Khokari Tombs

Khokari tombs built in the Indo-Saracenic style has 3 main tombs while scattered all around the Khokari tomb complex are 50 other tombs of nobility and other important people of the Siddi empire. The largest tomb in Khakori tombs is of Sidi Surul Khan who was chief of Janjira from 1707 to 1734, and the two smaller buildings in Khakori tombs are the tombs of Sidi Kasim and his brother Khairiyat Khan.

On Thursday nights the Koran is read at Khakori tombs and annual death-days a urus is celebrated. The Khakori tombs were kept in good repair by the Nawab who had assigned the village of Savli-Mitha-gar with a yearly revenue of Rs. 2,000 for the maintenance of Surul Khans tomb and Dodakal for the maintenance of Yakut Khans and Khairiyat Khans tombs.

Khokari Tombs

The Khakori tombs is located in Murud near Khakori village on the way to Agardanda. Yakut Khans tomb at Khakori tomb has an Arabic inscription stating that he died in A.D. 1707 Khairiyat Khans has also an inscription. The figures of the date of his death are H. 1018, but the Arabic words give the date of A. D. 1696.
